My 2025 Recap
Long time no update! It has been an absolutely intense year over here and what better way to wrap up 2025 than with a blog post of my key highlights of the year 2025?
Flyball at Westminster

In February my Ready, Set, Ruckus! teammates and I made the trek to New York City to compete in the inaugural flyball tournament at the 149th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. It was an experience that I will never forget. Not only did we get in (there were an astounding 55+ teams that were interested in competing but only 15 were selected via draw) but we also walked out as the Multi-Breed Division 2 Winners! I’m thrilled to announce that Flyball is coming back to Westminster in 2026 and we happened to get in via draw again! We are so excited to venture back out to the city for this amazing event – this time the whole family is coming!
Welcome home, LEGO!

In April I flew down to North Carolina and picked up one of the newest members of our family. LEGO is a border collie / papillon mix, also known in the dog sports world as a Borderpap. He is a great nephew to my senior border collie Nitro. Our main sport is Flyball but I’m looking forward to trying all the things with him to see what else tickles his fancy. He’s gone in the pool a few times during the summer and really enjoys chasing rolled discs. He is also a huge fan of tugging – especially on the bottoms of pants. 😉 He has such a zest for life and is the happiest little guy and brings a lot of laughter into our home.
Emerge 2025

This year I enrolled in Emerge, Unleashed Education’s intermediate 6-month challenge based course. Last year I completed Embark which was quite the photography experience. Of course I had to sign up for the next one! This year proved to be difficult while at the same time humbling. The challenges proved to be more difficult and along with that was the more advanced critique. There was not much blood, but a little bit of sweat and a lot of tears this time around. This course ran from May to October and this time I was pregnant and very early postpartum while going out and completing these challenges. Not to mention already having toddler at home! A lot of times I threw my hands up in the air and was ready to quit and just retake it next year where it would have been a lot easier for me to go out and shoot these images, but I’m glad I stuck it through. I wasn’t going to place in the Top 3 but my goal was to at least be selected as a Highly Commended portfolio and I am happy to say that I achieved that.
Welcome home, baby #2!
In July we welcomed our second bundle of joy home! Another little girl. We are so happy and are loving watching our toddler step into a big sister role. Home life has been absolutely chaotic trying to balance two children but we are getting into the groove.

Here’s to more love, laughs, celebrations, photography, dogs sports and health!
